There are currently 10 teams (constructors) competing in Formula 1. From 2026, Cadillac joins as the 11th constructor. Each team runs two cars and two drivers per race weekend.
The Drivers' Championship is won by the individual driver with the most points at season end. The Constructors' Championship is won by the team with the most combined points from both drivers across all races.
Ferrari holds the record with 16 Constructors' World Championships. Mercedes won 8 consecutive titles from 2014–2021. Red Bull Racing has 6 constructors' titles, including 4 consecutive from 2010–2013 and 2022–2023.
The F1 cost cap limits team spending to $135 million per season for 2026. Excluded from the cap: driver salaries, marketing costs, and the top 3 highest-paid staff members per team.
Ferrari is the most successful team by Constructors' Championships (16) and the only team to have competed in every F1 season since 1950. By race wins, Ferrari leads with over 240 victories.
