F1 Calendar FAQ
The 2026 Formula 1 season starts in March. The full season runs from March through November/December, featuring 24 Grands Prix across five continents.
The 2026 F1 season features 24 Grands Prix — one of the largest calendars in Formula 1 history. Six of those weekends also include a shorter Sprint race with its own points.
A Sprint is a 100km race (~30 minutes) held on select weekends instead of a second free practice session. Sprint results award limited points (8 down to 1 for top 8) and do not affect the main race grid position.
Lap counts vary by circuit — all races cover approximately 305 km (190 miles). Short circuits like Monaco have ~78 laps while longer venues like Spa-Francorchamps have ~44 laps.
The Singapore Grand Prix is historically one of the longest races due to its street circuit and frequent safety cars. The 2022 Singapore GP ran to exactly 2 hours — the maximum allowed time limit under FIA regulations.
